Louisa Co June 8 1868

Dear General

When you passed through Louisa the first of May 1863. I let your troops have 6 barrills of corn and meal 350 lbs Bacon some 15 or 20 fowls and cooked rations for a good many of your soldiers.
I was introduced to you on that ocation [[occasion]] and you found that I was a true Union man and ordered that there should be nothing taken from me but I upon finding out by your men that they had not drawn anything for 2 days furnished the above named things. I was living at Ellisvill Mills at the time on North Anna River the Boundary line of Orange and Louisa County's
