Justice by the Civil Courts to the freedmen is more fully given; occasionally a case of bad faith, on account of Color is reported but by prompt action from the A.S.A.C. of the various Counties, are remedied, and such cases are generally in the end decided no according to the evidence and law upon the subject. Sickness is on the increase in the City owing[[?]] to the excessive warm weather. It consists mostly in disease of the Bowels, and great suffering I fear will be the result, as I have received an order from the Surgeon in Chief that no farther admissions can be made
