Turner to go with him refusing at first to give any explanation, but finally saying he wanted to make him carry back that stolen property & that he must go to Manchester with him.  Turner being rather suspicious of the man, armed himself with a revolver & accompanied him before Spenser E. Hancock a justice of the Peace in this town, who confiscated the pistol, assessed a fine upon him for carrying concealed weapons and bound him over to answer the charge of theft before the County Court, at which Turner appeared and proved by satisfactory evidence an alibi, the testimony of the Prosecution was trifling, showing no justifiable ground of suspicion.  The case was dismissed with cost upon Turner.

One Martin, a white citizen of this county shot & killed a hog belonging to Peter Giles, col'd, valued at $20.  Giles procured a warrant and the parties were summoned to appear before Morgan J.P. of this town who without going into any investigation dismissed the case with cost upon Giles
