in a few days. Here was a case where a man was trying to get out of the way, was pursued by an exasperated man, and knowing that he was about to be overtaken, to keep from being injured himself, shot his pursuer.

This Colored man for this offense was sent to jail without bail. What a contrast between Case No. 4 and Case No. 5. No. 4 killed instantly jury says "accidental homocide" [[homicide]] cause - white man's the murderer.

No. 5 Jury says guilty of manslaughter, sent to Prison without Bail, cause - the Negro had the audacity to save himself from harm and shot a white man.

It is unnecessary to enumerate farther to show the animus of the Citizens of the this County against the Colored man, when one party is white and native born and the other a Black person.

Let us come nearer to Richmond. Take the County of Henrico.
