General,
I have the honor to transmit herewith inclosed letter in reference to claim of Jos. Emmons (or Hennings) colored. for one mule U.S. property taken up astray in 1865 and now in possession of J. S. Crute, Curdsville. Attention is respectfully invited to endorsement of Chas. E. Zincke A.S.A. Comr. and request made, that the decision of the General Commanding, of any made in the case, be communicated to this office. There being no record of any Military Commission Business transacted by Lt. Col. Jordan at this post, I am unable to give date on which the paper were forwarded to Head Quarters, but I am informed it was in September 1867, and further that Lt. Col. Jordan decided in favor of Joseph Emmons (or Hennings), subject to approval these
