A trial of the case was postponed from Court to Court upon some vague reason or other till the July Court when it came to trial there was no evidence that Mr. Bunkham had rented the property but his own statement the jury failed to agree, the case again came up at the August term of the County Court being the first Wednesday in the present month and since the writing of the letter of Mr. Jean to Governor Wells (the one enclosed) and was again tried before a jury two (2) of whom requested to be excused from sitting on the case stating that they could not do justice to Mr. Jean, but they were not allowed to withdraw even after that declaration but were used as jurors on the case the evidence was the same as
