Hudson's Store King George Co. Va.
July 10th 1868

This is to certify that I have the past twenty three years been a tenant on the land of Dr. Richard Stewart upon which I have built a house and made other improvements which were attended with considerable expense. On the 24th Day of June he served upon me a notice to quit the premises as he wished to repossess them the notice was strictly legal, but he stated that the cause which impelled him to thus notify his tenants to leave was that he was not going to have a set of negroes upon his lands who vote the radical ticket.
