General:
I have the honor to transmit the following at the request of David Canada (col'd)

He complains that having been sent for by Lieut Scott, Military Comr. at this place, to report to him; he, in compliance, called upon Lieut Scott, and that without any trial or hearing, and without any charges being preferred against him; he was placed in jail; and has been refused release upon bail.  He believes this to be contrary to law, and asks that he be released from confinement.
