Dear Sir,
I have just received my appointment which I will take with me to Woodstock. It takes effect from the 16th August. It will be necessary for you to send an order then assigning me to duty. Please forward it at once, send a blank oath along. The oath must be filed in the office of the Ast Commissioner of Virginia. Have them order them by Sunday next.
