I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 21st. instant, conveying the order of the Secretary of War, by direction of the President, that the Military Commission appointed by me for the trial of James L. Watson be dissolved, and that James L. Watson be discharged from Military Custody.

I have accordingly dissolved the commission and discharged Mr. Watson.-
