I have the honor to report that in November 1866 I apprenticed to Mr Wm L. King of Brunswick County two colored orphan minors who had formerly belonged to him and with whom they had lived from the close of the war until that time. Copies of the Indentures are herewith enclosed. Some six months (more or less) subsequent to the date of said indentures, Mr King informed me that the boys had run away from him and that he expected they had been enticed away by their "kin folks" to Dinwiddie County or Petersburg, but that he had not been
