This Indenture, made this 22 day of November in the year 1866, between Lt. FM Kimball Asst Supt [[strikethrough]] Officer [[/strikethrough]] of this Bereau, and, by Circular Letter of Major-General Howard, Commisioner, dated October 4th, 1865, Guardians of an Orphan Minor Richard Mason cold of the first part and William S King of the County, of the second part.

Witnesseth:
That the said Lt.FM Kimball Asst Supt in pursuance of the Circular Letter aforesaid, [[strikethrough]] have [[/strikethrough]] put and placed, and, by these presents, [[strikethrough]] do [[/strikethrough]] does put and place the said Richard Mason cold aged fourteen (14) years on the 2d day of November 1866 apprentice to the said Wm S. King with him to dwell and serve, from the date of these presents, until he shall attain his full age of 21 years.  And the said Lt. F.M. Kimball for [[strikethrough]] themselves [[/strikethrough]] himself, and [[strikethrough]] their [[/strikethrough]] his successor[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]], [[strikethrough]] do [[/strikethrough]] does hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Wm S. King his executors and administrators, that he the said Richard Mason the said Wm S King his master shall and will faithfully serve in all lawful business according to his ability, and honestly obediently, in all things demean and [[?]] himself toward[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]] his master, during the said apprenticeship 

And the said Wm. S. King for himself, his heirs, &c. doth covenant and agree to and with the said Lt. FM Kimball and [[strikethrough]] their [[/strikethrough]] his successor[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]],by these presents, that he the said Wm S. King shall and will teach the said Richard Mason or cause him to be taught the art & [[?]] of farmer in the best way he can during the said term, and will during all the term aforesaid find, provide, and allow unto him competent and sufficien food, meat, drink, apparel, lodging, washing  medical care & allowance when sick and all things necessary and fit for an apprentice.
And the said Wm S. King doth covenant and agree with the said  Lt Kimball asst Supt and [[strikethrough]] their [[/strikethrough]] his successor[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]], that he will teach or cause the said apprentice to be taught Reading, Writing and Arithmetic as far as the Rule of Three.
And the said Wm. S. King doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Lt. FM Kimball Asst Supt and [[strikethrough]] their [[/strikethrough]] his successor[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]], that he will pay the sum of twenty five (25) dollars to said apprentice when he has attain his full age of 21 years to wit 20 November 1873.
