Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
OFFICE OF ASST. SUB ASST. COM'R,
4th DIV., 10th SUB. DIST., DIST. OF VIRGINIA.
Warrenton, Va., February 12th, 1868.

Josiah T Fishback
Observer For Fauquier Co. Va,
Sir
I would respectfully call your attention to the case of Edmond Davis (colored) who lies in a suffering condition at the house of Mr. H. T. Swarts near Middleburg, Fauquier Co. Va.

the place he is now lying in, is not considered a proper place for a man in his condition, and he being dependent upon the charity of Mr H. T. Swarts, it is deemed necessary that the County authorities should provide for him.

If action cannot be taken in this case immediately, I would request to be so informed, so that the government can take such action as is necessary in the premises,

Very Respectfully
Martin Havens
A.S.A.C
