I have the honor to inform you that upon a further investigation of the case of the Commonwealth vs. R H Waddell (reported by me in letter dated Aug 7th 1868) I find that Magistrate Davis J.P. and acting Presiding Justice was a Coroner for the county of Bedford prior to the war and afterwards voted for the ratification of the Ordinance of Secession thereby giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States and that Nathaniel J Thaxton was a Justice of the Peace before during and since the war, that Cornelius pate was a Justice prior to the war and voted for the ratification of the Ordinance of Secession and that W.W. Jopling was elected a Justice of
