In reply to your communication of 12th ultimo where in you state that, the Supt of Education of this Dist has recommended that upon certain conditions therein named $500, would be appropriated by the Bureau to assist the colored people of Leesburg Va in building a school house, I have the honor to inform you that, the colored people of Leesburg Va have promised me that they will comply with the conditions therein named, and further, it is my belief that they will do so, provided, the $500, can be obtained by Oct 10th 1868.
