I have the honor, in accordance with suggestions of Maj Genl Howard, to request a situation in your Dept. I am at present out of employment, having lost my situation under the government last spring, because I as I had a right to do, took an active part in the Georgetown Election.-
I Enclose letter of recommendation with endorsements.
