that Some one must be near his premises he arose took his gun and went out of his house to See what was the matter. As he Stepped around one corner of his house he Saw a white object upon a white horse dressed in white object upon a white horse dressed in white approaching him from the other corner.

He instantly leveled his gun at the object and commanded it to halt. The white object cried "Dont Shoot, dont shoot." and North finding it to be a veritable man lowered his gun as he did So another white object appeared. At this North retreated to his house and closed his door after him. Then commenced a terrible pounding and pushing at the door and cries of "We will kill you we have come to kill you this night" North finding that he was not able Successfully to resist the odds against him and fearing if his assailant got into the house they might not only kill him but his family also allowed the door to open and as it did So grappled with the foremost white object and rolled with it out of doors. They has a hard Struggle and North was fast getting the advantage of his Swearing opponent when a Second white object Struck him a heavy blow upon his Shoulder with a pistol. Finding himself severely injured North was obliged to desist from any further Struggling. He was immediately Seized by five white objects and Securely tied. He was told the Same Story about Manassas cold graves &c as has been before narrated. He was questioned about the Union League
