Shanandoah, S.S.
Mary Lee (cold) being duly sworn says I was out the night of the bonfire which was Monday night - when opposite George H. Otts house I saw Hugh Ott hand Geo. Knisley an ax Knisley then ran towards Mr. Halls flag pole and when near Widow Andersons house, her two daughters who were standing out doors said "Hurrah boys" Cut the pole" Knisley then went up to the pole and chopped it down.

Knisley, Hugh Ott, and some other person I did not know, took up the pole and carried it to the fire and burned the pole. There was pistols firing at the time.
