At a meeting of a portion of the Citizens of Mecklenburg County held in the Clerk's office on Monday May 8th 1868.

On motion R B Baptist Esq was called to the chair and Wm T Atkins appointed secetary.

The object of the meeting having been explained, it was

Resolved. That the people of Mecklenburg have for some months past, and are now greatly aggrieved by the presence and conduct of Geo W Graham, agent of the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned lands. And that they verily believe that the peace, good order and safety of the Community require that he should be promptly removed.

Resolved. That Geo B Finch Esq, who is hereby appointed a committee for the purpose, be requested to proceed at once to the City of Richmond, and to lay before Major General Stoneman Commanding this District, the Causes
