Jeney [[Jenney]] Pollard deposes and says, on last Sunday Evening (June 7th) I was sitting at my window and saw three children running up the alley. Mr Latham was running after them.  When he got to my house he picked up a pine stick about three inches wide, by one thick, and fourteen inches long, and he came into the house.  When he came into the house I left my place at the window and went to the stairs and looked down.  I Saw Mr Latham beating Bob Fletcher with the stick.  He beat him so hard that the stick was broken in several pieces.  He then took the child by the hair of the head and lifted him up about a foot from the floor.  Bob Fletcher is about five years old, and has appeared sick since.  I was examined at the trial before Mr Saml Atwell and gave substancially [[substantially]] the same testimony I do now.
