Sir I now seat myself to write to you for infimation I have bin living in Powhatan at my Brothers Farm this year & working his farm on shers I furnish half & go Half in The crop my services is put against the Land  They sayed I could get a cook to cook for me & they had nothing to do wigth who cooked for me.  I have got col woman as wife & have had her ever since 18 sixty four though it was a secret until the army come through The year the Army came through I asked her mother & relation for her  She has no Father but a sep Father & I asked him for her & all consented that I might take her so she stayed for some time wigth them [[Strikethrough]] them [[/Strikethrough]] her mother & they will say that they saw us go to Bed together all the time  I have never had any falling out wigth her since I had her.  She cooked washed ironed & worked the Garden which the sertainly got their pretty half out the garden & now she has bin hear all the year up to this time. & They have come & driven her off like a dog & I have no where for her to go and have got nothing to do for her in the world unless she is sent back to me  I can tell you it is a hard mighty hard thing that a man can stand & see his wife suffer in that way if you have a waif please take it on
