Asst Com who is stationed at Suffolk in Nansemond Co, does not admit of his exercising as careful a scrutiny as he would otherwise be enabled to do.

3rd.  The Marriage Register is nearly complete and the requirements of the five paragraphs of Circular No. 11 faithfully carried out.

4th  The County Authorities provide for all their Poor without distinction of color, which the small amount of destitution enables them to do without difficulty.

Temperance
The Freedmen here as elsewhere are as a class temperate.  No societies have as yet been formed, the people being too much occupied with pollical matters, to attempt them with much prospect of success.
