   I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 15th instant and in reply to state, that having already taken action, as Military Commissioner, in regard to the riot at Lunenburg C.H. on Monday (which was a serious affair) it would not facilitate the investigation for me to proceed there now.
I enclose, herewith, copy of a communication address by me to Head Qrs First Mil. District, reporting the occurence, by which you will perceive that the examination is fixed for Monday next at this Office: I will report the result to you as soon thereafter as possible.
