1st  The general condition is gradually improving and very little if any extreme destitution exists amongst them.
2nd  Frmen complaints of injustice on the part of the Civil Courts towards the Freedmen have been reported than during the previous quarter although the disposition of the authorities towards this class of the population remains apparantly nuchanged
3rd The marriage Register remains as at last report
4th Nansemond County has two (2) alms houses and Isle of Wight on (1) which are capable of providing ample accomodations for the poor of both colored and the pecuniary means for so doing are also ample.
5th The demand and supply of labor are about equal.
6th The New York Society of Friends, have supported several temporary Schools during the quarter in the interval of the vacation of the Schools Supported by other Societies The Schools have been well taught and well attended, Schoools are needed (in addition to those that will probably be reopened this season) at Smithfield Chuckatuck and Sumerton
