HEAD QUARTERS 2nd SUB-DISTRICT, VIRGINIA,
Petersburg, May 20th 1868

Brevet Brig Genl O. Brown
Asst Commissioner Bureau R.F. & A.L.
Richmond, Va.

General :-
I have the honor to state that applications for additional Bounty of $50.00 ($50.00 having been paid by the Paymaster) and Discharge Papers of Daniel Pompey and Edward Wilson, discharged soldiers of Co. "G" 37th U.S.C. Troops were forwarded from this office with a number of others from the same Co. May 20th 1867, and receipt received at this office for the same, May 26th 1867. The discharges of all of the others forwarded have been returned to this office, and notice received from Gen'l Balloch that they are ready for payment. I would respectfully request that the attention of the proper authorities be called to this fact, and that I be informed why these accounts are not also settled, as they may have been overlooked.

Very Respectfully
Your Ob't Servant
J R Stone
