Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
HEAD QUARTERS 2nd SUB-DISTRICT, VIRGINIA,
Petersburg, Va., Sept 11th 1868.

General

I have the honor to call your attention to my application of the 4th inst to do certain repairs on the Pochahontas schoolhouse and to ask your immediate consideration of the same Miss Hill is to teach that school. She is a Northern teacher If the city authorities go on and do for the building what I propose to do - and they will if I do not - they will demand of the trustees of the building a written stipulation giving them full control of the building so long as they may wish to continue the school thus taking it entirely from the control of the Bureau and Northern Societies This we should by all means endeavor to prevent Other considerations are laid down in my former letter

Very resptly
