A certain class of freedmen are naturally so stupid that neither experience or education will aid them
A case of this Kind came before me yesterday
Some freedmen in Dinwiddie-, two years since had trouble with one Jones, in dividing a crop  The cause of the latter was a barefaced swindle in the practice of which he threatened the life of the employees - a common thing where fraud is practiced on the negro  By a good deal of effort on the part of the Bureau a judgment was obtained against Jones - he having locked up the crop - and the amount due the laborers collected
I advised them to hereafter keep away from this man and to caution all other freedmen looking for work to do the same
In the face of this these same stupid men have this year raised another
