Sir,
Please find enclosed, a Petition of the Citizens of Farmville, and surrounding country: asking that no change may be made in the Officers of this Post. You will also receive in a day or two, a similar petition now being gotten up and extensively signed by the Colored Citizens of the Town, and surrounding country, of exactly simillar character and import.

For the reasons set forth in the accompanying paper, and from the almost universal accord of sentiment among all classes, Colors, and conditions of our people, we trust, that our petitions may be favorably regarded, and the purpose which inspired them may be fully accomplished.
