And at another day to wit: At a Court of quarterly Session continued and held for Gloucester County at the Courthouse on Wednesday the third day of June in the year aforesaid, present Jeff W. Stroh, Matt Glenn & A. W. Rohns Justices

Plff } Upon an Indictment

The Commonwealth
against Baylor Thornton and John Thornton. 
Defts of the grand Jury

This day came as well the attorney prosecuting for the Commonwealth as the defendants by Wm B. Taleiferro their attorney and thereupon the said defendants for plea say that they are not guilty in manner and form as in the Indictment against them is alleged and of this they put themselves upon the Country and the attorney for the Commonwealth with the like and issue being joined, thereupon, came a Jury to act Albert Pointer, John H. Rowe, John S Smith, Jas. F. Barron, James Soles, John T. Enos, John Acra, Saml. D. Pointer, Wm R. Jones, Alexr Pearce, Levi P. Coor and Wm O. Massey who being elected tried and Sworn the truth to speak upon the issue joined retired to their room and after sometime returned into Court and brought in a verdict in the words and figures following to wit "We the Jury find [[strikethrough]] John [[/strikethrough]] Baylor Thornton guilty and assess his fine at [[strikethrough]] twenty [[/strikethrough]] fifty dollars"  James F. Barron "We the Jury find John Thornton guilty and assess his fine at twenty five dollars" James F. Barron "Therefore it is considered by the Court that the Commonwealth recover against the said defendants the fines assessed as aforesaid and the costs of this
