I have the honor to request permission to rent the Building occupied by the Freedmen School recently organized at Green Ridge, Roanoke Co. Va. (about 8 miles from the County Seat) at &10 00 per month, to date from December 1st 1868.  This Building is about 20 feet square, with 10 feet ceilings, and built during the past month by the Freedmen for School and meeting purposes, at a cost of about $225.00

They need help in paying for it, and would respectfully solicit aid in the direction herein indicated.  Their Teacher's name is Geo. W. Randolph a colored man of the highest standing among his people in this section of the country.  This School numbers 40 Scholars and it is expected to increase to 60.
