Respectfully forwarded to the Asst Comr Dist of Va This Building is one of those reported by me in my letter to the C QM & DO of Nov 7 1868 as surplus & in accordance with his instructions Capt Ayres A S A C was directed to sell this building at at Public Auction on Tuesday the 8th inst

A Special Messenger has been sent to Yorktown stopping the sale of the building until instructions can be received from Head Qrs Dist V. I would however respectfully reccommend that the building be sold by Capt Ayres A.S.AC
