William H. Barnes, mentioned in letter of Lieut. Murphy, dated April 2d, 1867, forwarded by your April 13th, who claims to have worked upon the Steamers "Long Branch" and "Charles Chamberlin," must furnish the names of the Quartermasters under whose chare the steamers were, before any action can be taken on his claims - Captain Martin Wood under whom he worked was not an A.Q.M. as Capt. O. Brown, never had charge of the Steamer "Chas. Chamberlin".
