The communication of Mr. E. P. Williams, Agent, dated July 22nd 1867, calling attention to case of Fanny Jones, a  lunatic, will be returned to you by to days mail. You will forward the communication to Williamsburg, and if the Asylum is full, you will notify the authorities of Matthews County, that if they will send the woman to Richmond, she will be cared for by the Bureau.

Yours of the 25th inst. is at hand. I have referred it to the Superintendent of Education who will forward to Mr. Townes such books as he is able to procure. There is no provision by which an assortment of Schoolbooks can be furnished by the Bureau, but I have a liberal supply of primers from the American Tract Society which will be sent wherever required.
