On the 5. May 1866, a communication in your handwriting, signed by Capt. A.S. Flagg, was addressed to these Hd Qrs - Among the enclosures was an application of Lewis Hall, 2. U.S.C. Light Art'y. for retained bounty amounting to $109. - A check for the amount was duly received from Washington and sent to Capt. Flagg, who acknowledged the receipt on May 12. 1866. - Was the amount deposited in your Bank, if so, is the amount now on deposit, or has it been paid?  Please give full particulars, and also your position in connection with Bounty matters at that time.
