I am directed by the Asst. Comr. to inform you that the salary of Douglas Frazer, Agent, has been increased to $150 00/100 per month, to date June 1. 1868; that William Leakey, has been appointed an agent of this Bureau, to date June 1st 1868, at a salary of $100 per month; and that E.G. Townsend has been appointed an Agent at a salary of $100 per month, to date April 16th 1868.

Sir,
Referring to your endorsement on the letter of Hector Sears, A. S. A. Comr, dated 30. ultimo, I am instructed by the Bvt. Brig. Genl. Asst. Comr. to say that the position taken by the Mayor of Fredericksburg is untenable, as the order referred to has not been revoked, but it is not deemed advisable to bring up this question at the present time and under existing circumstances. At the same time, it is best to watch the proceedings of the Court closely and see that no injustice is done the Freedmen.
