This is the second part of the letter, the first part of which was mailed to you yesterday.

SIGNAC: If you have time - but do not send Georges who is not at all qualified for that kind of work - try to get in touch with Signac again. You might perhaps induce him to sell his SEURAT, or at least his CEZANNE landscape - he has a very fine one.

BIGNOU GALLERY: I went to his place, and although I would love to criticize everything, I must say that he has the ideal gallery. You certainly will agree on that. One really could not want anything better from every point of view. The light is awfully good, the pictures very well hung and beautifully framed with the most expensive frames obtainable. His exhibition looks very well indeed, although, as I told you in my last letter, there is nothing particularly new or breath-taking.

Roland has told me that Bignou is asking $40,000. for his Cézanne figure and $40,000. for his Van Gogh interior. From the SUTRO collection London -

As I came out of the gallery Mr.CLARK was coming in.

I had luncheon yesterday at MISS WETMORE's. There were a great many people there, amongst whom the two Millikens. During the whole conversation, everyone spoke of the Bignou show - much to my disgust!

This (Wednesday) morning René borrowed a little LAUTREC picture from Bignou to show MRS.JONAS. You and I both know this picture well. As a matter of fact, we had almost bought it from Missia Sert but at the last moment Hessell took the picture away from us by offering a higher price. You certainly remember the incident.

MRS.JONAS: She has been in Wednesday afternoon. She didn't think the Bignou Lautrec was important enough, so we decided to show her the photograph of our Lautrec. She seemed to like it very much indeed, and if the picture comes back from Boston, I shall certainly show it to her.

This picture could be very much improved with another frame which would bring out the colors. Indeed, Mrs.Jonas said that she wanted a Lautrec with a great deal of strong color.
