Then Rowe showed me a Turner of the very early period which he was considering buying. I will try to do something with the ECCLES pictures with Rowe, especially with the Whistler. I think the "Eiffel Tower" can be sold to Mrs. Danforth if Rowe really likes it but we shall have to await the return of this lady.

I also mentioned to him our Degas. He did not seem to say Mrs. Danforth had no money - but he just wanted something very good (sic) to induce her to buy something else.
