Temporary address of LONDON HEADQUARTERS
GREYCOAT GALLERIES
GREYCOAT PLACE
S.W.1.

2nd February 1935

Jaques Seligmann Esq.,
745, Fifth Avenue
New York.

Dear Sir,

Can you visualise the advantage of having a thoroughly equipped and efficiently staffed office of your own in London? You would have someone to whom you could write at any time for information, somewhere to make your headquarters during a business or pleasure trip to Europe, and people who would be watching any development which might interest you in the world of Art over here.

Besides the actual office accommodation, you would have your own agent, in the person of the writer of this letter, the Hon Rupert Mitford, who is in New York twice a year and at your disposal for any advice or help it is in his power to give.

I shall write you a monthly letter from YOUR London Headquarters, which will be an accurate condensate of the transatlantic trends of the moment. It will keep you very much au fait with international matters, and provide a basis for conversation out of the ordinary and authoritative, when you can refer to "the letter from my London correspondent". The very use of a London address adds prestige to your letterhead.

Due to intensely personal class of this service only a limited number of members can be enrolled, and therefore it would be wise to write to me by return mail.

"And what does this fine service cost?" I can hear you ask. "For under $5.00 a week", is the reply, "you get an office with free stenographic services in London, a staff to make your appointments before you arrive, and arrange your business and pleasure trips while you are there, a travelling representative who speaks five languages and has 'entree' all over America and Europe, and a monthly London letter which will keep you ahead of your neighbour and make you the best posted man in your circle".

Yours very truly,
H R Mitford.
