New York, December 27th, 1935.

My dear Germain,

Just a line because the story is so amusing.

DONLON just tells me that Jo MAKHAROFF is interested in our large VAN GOGH. He is hanging it in her house tomorrow for about a week, as Mrs. Makharoff is going away, and to give her a chance to look at it for a few days when she returns.

The part of the story which is funny is that Mrs. Makharoff is the client for whom Marie Harriman borrowed these pictures a week ago!!

Best wishes for a Happy New Year.
