me as soon as possible by AIR MAIL (via Amsterdam) -- whether from New York or Paris -- to: HOTEL DES INDES, BATAVIA, JAVA, outlining your ideas so I can plan accordingly. The letter should reach me during the third week in June. Also write me a few words of what's been going on. I have had a few clippings about Barnes' purchase of two Renoirs from Bignou and Durand-Ruel (including our old friend Mlle. Durand Ruel), the Cloisters, which still seem to be a gold mine if you can find the stuff for them, Mellon's gift to the nation, and sundry other things, but that's about all, so do write a bit more.

Hope you have been able to wade through this letter. Helen sends very best with me, and says she hopes you haven't forgotten the reunion we're all to have at Versailles.

Best of wishes and good thoughts,
Bob.
