Dear Bob:

Thank you for your short longhand lines from Paris. I suppose by now you are in the midst of the Saratoga social whirl or something similar.

The only chapter I have to answer is about the Ryerson deal, and am sorry not to be able to comply with your desire, as it is a matter of principle. I have no check book with me and am unable therefore to send you the 7-1/2% due you for the time being at least. I suggest therefore, that you get in touch with Mr. Liechti and ask him to give you a check, and tell him also that I shall send him a check in replacement as soon as I get back to Paris. Send him this note, which will serve him as authorization.

With best wishes,

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)
