GRAND HOTEL ST. WOLFGANG
FERNSPRECHER NR. 5 UND 11

HOTEL SCHAFBERGSPITZE
FERNSPRECHER ST. WOLFGANG 5 UND 11

July 29 1937

Dear Germain:

Many thanks for your good lines received here a few days ago. We, too, are terribly sorry we didn't see you, but the fault is most entirely mine as you had originally written me you would meet us anyplace between St. Moritz and Vienna. I naturally then thought you would be in Austria and surely Vienna, and took great pains to give you our various addresses. Actually we were only in Switzerland one night, in Lucerne, en passant.

Sobeit, we have had an interesting trip, and I have seen and learned quite a few things. In Budapest, the only art I saw was the museum — I could have arranged to see the Herzog and Hatvany pictures, but César had asked me not to go as it might confuse things — in other words, I gathered that either you or he or Georges had something en train. The museum is intensely interesting and contains some very fine things
