Dear Mr. Liechti:

[] not rec'd presumably when envelope lost []

When these lines reach you I hope you will have completely recovered and will be feeling your own self again.

CHAUNCEY MC CORMICK: I have just asked Mrs. Parker what you did in connection with my letter of July 5th., in which I had requested you to write to Mr. Chauncey McCormick along the lines of a letter I suggested and following my letter sent directly to Mr. McCormick in answer to his of June 14th. Mrs Parker tells me that she knows nothing about this letter and that you did not show it to her.

I must say that I am rather surprised that in cases like that the two of you don't talk matters over when I am away and that you didn't even show her this letter. It seems to me that, to say the least, it is detrimental to the good running of the firm.

Will you tell me now what you have done and what answer, if any, you received. If at this writing you have not received an answer from Mr. McCormick, I wish you would send him a telegram saying:

"RECEIVED CABLE FROM HEAD OUR FIRM IN PARIS QUOTING WHAT ANSWER HAVE YOU RECEIVED FROM CHAUNCEY MCCORMICK ABOUT [[strikethrough]] HIS PICASSO AS HAVE PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMER HERE AND MUST MAKE [[/strikethrough]] PICASSO AS MENTIONED HIS PAINTING AS POSSIBLE PURCHASE TO CUSTOMER HERE WHO WANTS IMMEDIATE ANSWER WHETHER PAINTING AVAILABLE OTHERWISE LOOKING ELSEWHERE STOP COMMUNICATE IMMEDIATELY WITH MCCORMICK IF YOU ARE WITHOUT ANSWER STOP CABLE UNQUOTE PLEASE WIRE ANSWER YOUR DECISION

GILBERT STUARTS: Another matter which is very much on my mind, is that of the Gilbert Stuarts at Castano's. As you know they do not belong to us and we are responsible for them to Mrs. Diego Suarez. If by now Castano hasn't succeeded in selling them or hasn't a very definite prospect, I want him to return them to us. I therefore suggest the you write him a nicely worded letter in which you might say that the owner has requested us to have the paintings back in our galleries if the person to whom we consigned them had not succeeded in selling them - we of course, having told the owner that we sent them out on consignment.

CHECK MRS. DILLMAN: As I don't recall whether I wrote you before on this topic, I want you to know that this lady gave us a check of £997.10 covering her purchase of the Marin Group. Herein, in connection with this, you will find copy of the correspondence with McKay Morant
