Dear Sir:

Just prior to Mr. Germain Séligmann's departure on Saturday, he asked me to send you a short note telling you - as he was not certain whether in the rush and confusion of leaving he had done so himself - that he was going directly to London, in order to attend the MORTIMER L. SCHIFF auction.

Should you wish to bid on any items in that collection Mr. Séligmann would be very pleased to do so for your account, and in connection with this, we would gladly include your instructions in one of our cables to him. Or, if you preferred wiring him directly, he sailed on the SS CHAMPLAIN which is due to arrive in England on Saturday next, the 18th., and he will be stopping at the Mayfair Hotel (Cable address, "Mayfairtel") in London.

Trusting that we may be of service to you,

Yours very truly,

Secretary to Mr. Germain Séligmann.
