Paris, July 15th 1938

Dear Julius,

I am in receipt of your longhand note of July 13th., and please find herein enclosed a check of $ 200, on the Empire Trust Co, New York.

This sum represents my personal contribution towards the present need of your Mother-in-law.

In view of other obligations which I have undertaken, I am in no position to give you another check for the rest of this year.

I would like you to understand that by sending you this check, I am not accomplishing a family duty, but that I am glad to help a starving human being, also that this first check and any one which might follow should not be construed as a tie that I am creating for myself in the future.

At your request, I am forwarding your letter to my Sisters.
