Soroptimists Found Active in Many Fields
Hear Careers Range From Ship Chandler to Logging

ATLANTIC CITY, June 16. - The roster of delegates to the fifth biennial convention of the American Federation of Soroptimist Clubs at the Hotel Claridge revealed today that the delegates' business careers range from ship chandler to logging. Miss Edna Gaynor, of Seattle, owns a ship chandlery, and Miss Catherine Wilson, of Seattle, and Miss Julia Boone, of Portland, Ore., each own a logging business.
Mrs Catherine Insinger, of Philadelphia, is the designer of dishwashing machines used on United States Navy destroyers and battleships, while Miss Vira Frederick, of Springfield, Mo., south central regional director for the federation, owns and operates three gasoline stations. Mrs Louise Kramer, of Dayton, Ohio, owns a foundry.
Miss Marian McGuire of Los Angeles, is a building manager, while Miss Dorothy Wilson, of Victoria, B. C., has a school of ballet. A banker, importer, judge, and public relations manager are also on the roster.
Miss Iola S. Rank, of Philadelphia, reporting for the international careers advisory committee, emphasized that business and professional women leaders had passed the stage of guarding secrets of their success and were now freely offering advice to younger women.
