Dear Mr. Séligmann:

DEGAS, "CHEVAUX DE COURSE" -- Has been released in good condition by the Customs, and I have advised the Museum of Modern Art accordingly.

LLOYD'S BLOCK POLICY -- Messrs. McKay Morant wrote that they succeeded in reducing the premium rate from 8.5-0/00, as proposed, to 7.6-0/00 which calls for a payment of $1.300 for our policy of $170,000. This rate is somewhat higher than last year's which was 7.2-0/00.

CHAUNCEY McCORMICK -- I am enclosing copy of his letter to you. I have answered that the letter was being forwarded to you in Europe.

GEORGES HAARDT -- We called for four tapestries for which Mr. Levy is expecting a new client. I am returning for Georges Haardt & Co., through Chenue, 4 paintings by Wolstenholme to Ackermann, London, and 1 painting by Wolstenholme and 1 by Cooper Henderson to Sabin, London. Mr. Haardt, of course, pays one-half of the charges. Incidentally, he sailed on the 19th per S.S. DE GRASSE.

PARK STATIONERY -- We received an estimate from them for our winter exhibition catalogues which is a few hundred dollars less than the lowest estimate previously received. Mr. Levy will post you fully about this.

JOHN S. THACHER -- Left with us for storage, as arranged with Mr. Levy, and this entirely at his own risk and expense, 7 paintings for which I have taken out an insurance policy for $25,000 with Macomber & Co. in his name.

CHIRICO -- I just received the following cable:- "exhibition December O.K.". I am now awaiting his signed agreement. Incidentally, his Paris address is % Magnelli, 20 Villa Seurat (100 Rue de la Tombe Issoire).

SHIPMENT -- I received your cable to ship to Paris in separate cases the Bonnard, "Flower Piece" and the Manet, "Antonin Proust". They will leave on June 25th per S.S. PARIS.

ACCOUNTANTS -- Started the audit last week and they will keep me busy for another three weeks.

AMBROSE -- I let him go, as arranged, on the 18th.

JACK -- Was home again for four days because he simply could not stand up on his legs. He told me today that he is feeling very much improved. Regarding compensation, I talked this over again with Macomber & Co. as well as with the two other firms known to me, and they all gave me the same reply; that the insurance companies have no jurisdiction whatsoever over compensation to be paid, and that the only final decision lies with the Labor Board in Albany. For the time being anyhow I will make no further efforts, but
