MR. LIECHTI * ASK KNOEDLER FROM TIME TO TIME WHETHER THEY HAVE RECEIVED THE "MASTER OF LEGEND OF ST.BARBARA"PTG.

[] [[strikethrough]] Mrs Parker. [[/strikethrough]] []

Paris, September 27th 1938

Dear Bob,

Your letter of September 19th has just been received by me, and in haste I am writing you re the Master of the Saint Barbara Legend.

I have yesterday remitted this painting to the Paris representative of Knoedler's, in order to have them ship it to New York. I have done this for several reasons, one of them being that we have had so much packing done here and that the firm of Knoedler's being a foreign corporation, and remaining open, they might have a better chance to forward the picture abroad.

Therefore, get in touch with Knoedler in order to get the painting to sell to Francis Taylor. My best wishes.

Mrs Parker will tell you what price I mentioned Francis Taylor. I think it was 10,000 $, which he considered at the time as a very reasonable figure, as he had been asked considerably more.

R.M. Levy esq.,
New York.
