Dear Liechti,

Though, as you realize, things are extremely unsettled - to say the least - and I am not so sure yet that I will be able to get back to America, nevertheless, I think we should take steps as if nothing were going to happen. Therefore, I am writing you about the girl in charge of the telephone. We have all been very pleased with Miss Rico's sister last season, and I trust that if she is still free and willing, you will make arrangements to have her back, as I personally, decidedly prefer her to any other girl we have had, with the exception of Miss. Shepard.
