"Believing that the natural resources of this Continent are economic, social, recreational and esthetic assets which should be restored and perpetuated for our posterity, and realizing that this can be achieved only through an aroused and enlightened opinion among the people of this nation, we dedicate this Federation to these ends."

TO THE FRIENDS OF CONSERVATION:
We can't go on forever like Ferdinand the Bull just smelling the flowers and expect the load of conservation problems to be carried by volunteer efforts. I know you must be willing to assume your fair share of the burden.

Most all the efforts to organize and promote conservation have gone on the rocks of an empty treasury. The everlasting cry of every sportsman and conservation organization whenever there was a job to be done has always been "Where will we get the money?"

That is why this sheet of wildfire stamps is sent to you. The national receipts from the sale of these stamps will go to harness the forces of conservation in a local and nationwide hookup. Your dollar which we ask you to send in return for the stamps will be used first, to continue the organization of the conservation forces in a strong "popular front"; second, to promote a national education program; third, to guard and guide the legislative activities; fourth, to futher local and national restoration projects thru the force of a well organized background in each state.

If you have already purchased a sheet of stamps and do not care to make further investment in the wildfire restoration movement, please return the stamps enclosed - but Conservation does need your help!

Yours for wildlife,
Jay N. Darling.

Jay N. Darling, President
National Wildlife Federation

P.S. We did a good job last year. Would you like to see the record?

PLEASE TEAR OFF ON DOTTED LINE AND SEND IN YOUR DOLLAR AND ADDITIONAL ORDER
